The UFC pulled off a massive last-minute fight to save the UFC 294 card, but Dana White has still found something to be upset with.

UFC 294 was supposed to be headlined by a lightweight title rematch between champion Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira. A lightweight championship rematch will indeed be closing out the card, but it’ll be Alex Volkanovski taking Oliveira’s place. It was first reported by the OverDogs Podcast that “do Bronx” is out of the UFC 294 main event, and that Alex Volkanovski is in. White later confirmed the news.

Dana White Not Happy With Charles Oliveira’s Team

UFC CEO Dana White spoke to reporters following the latest edition of his Contender Series. White wasn’t shy in chastising Oliveira’s team for leaking the news of “do Bronx’s” injury.

“One phone call, and I would’ve announced it hours ago except I was waiting for the guys to wake up in Abu Dhabi to let them know before we reported it, but these guys that surround these guys down in Brazil just can’t keep their f*cking mouths shut,” White said. “This came out of Oliveira’s camp, apparently, and it’s just f*cking part of the business, you know what I mean? I would’ve liked to have talked to the powers that be in Abu Dhabi before it got announced, but people can’t keep their f*cking mouths shut, for whatever reason. They wanna act like they’re in the know and make these phone calls. So, here we are.”

Oliveira Apologizes To UFC Fans

Charles Oliveira’s injury was a nasty cut on his eyebrow suffered during a sparring session. The former UFC lightweight champion apologized to fight fans, but he’s also remaining positive.

“Sorry everyone, but God knows all things,” Oliveira wrote.
