- Dana White shared his honest take on Sean Strickland’s controversial and rude comments about various matters
- The UFC boss encourages people to not get too emotional about “Tarzan”
UFC president Dana White wants people to just let Sean Strickland say what he wants to say and not let it trigger them.
The boss advises fans to calm down
Speaking to The Truth podcast ahead of UFC 297, White pointed out that he could only do so much to stop guys like Strickland from making foul comments, especially during press conferences. What the UFC boss said instead, is to just don’t take “Tarzan” too seriously.
“People get pissed off, people get offended, this and that. We just had it happen with Sean Strickland,” White said. “We’re up in Canada, Sean Strickland said a lot of things, I don’t agree with 95% of what this guy says. But, it’s his right to say it. And if you don’t like it, tune in on Saturday night, he’s going to get punched in the face. If you don’t like him, you get to see him get punched in the face.
“Don’t get too upset and don’t take it too serious,” he concluded.

Sean can’t stop talking
Apart from being a former middleweight champion, Strickland indeed, is known for his savage mouth. More often than not, “Tarzan” prompts some of his fellow UFC fighters to blast him over his rude comments.
UFC welterweight contender Ian Garry was the latest fighter Strickland feuded with. The beef started when Strickland insulted Garry and his wife on social media.
Strickland failed to defend his middleweight title against Dricus du Plessis at UFC 297. White thought “Tarzan” was winning the fight but regardless of what he thought, the UFC president is not keen on greenlighting a quick rematch.
