Dana White says Mark Zuckerberg is interested in fighting in the UFC.
Recently, Zuckerberg and Elon Musk took aim at one another on social media and were interested in fighting one another. White then offered to promote it, but the UFC boss claims once Musk realizes the fight would have to be sanctioned by an athletic commission, there would need to be proper medical testing and drug testing, he backed out.
Although Dana White says Elon Musk isn’t interested in fighting anymore, Mark Zuckerberg still wants to compete in the UFC, and White says he takes MMA very seriously.
“He takes this sport very seriously and he trains very hard. He is very serious about possibly competing someday. That’s why he didn’t want to be part of something that kept being talked about and probably wouldn’t happen,” White said to TMZ Sports. “But, yeah, he won’t be here this weekend. I have a show every Tuesday called Dana White’s Contender Series, he may pop into one of those on a Tuesday night in Vegas. But, he is training and is very serious about it.”
White says Zuckerberg is ‘very serious’ in having a UFC fight
With Dana White saying Mark Zuckerberg takes MMA seriously and wants to fight, the UFC boss claims the Mets owner wants to eventually have a fight in the UFC.
“He and I talk multiple times a week,” White said about Zuckerberg. “And we had dinner last Monday. He’s very serious about competing. And when he mentioned it, he said, listen, what he was saying in response to Elon was there are tons of professional organizations out there and this is the way this should be done, not in some backyard or whatever Elon was saying.”
When and who Zuckerberg would fight in the UFC is uncertain. But, if it does happen, it would be a highly-anticipated matchup and one of the most anticipated fights in quite some time.
