Dana White backs off his threat to ban fighters that appear in EA MMA

Dana White is the Viceroy of Verbiage, Sultan of Smack, Leader of Linguistics, Dictator of Diction…I could do this all day (but that would just be an incredible way to waste my life). Last summer, ZUFFA issued a statement that any UFC fighter who appeared in EA Sports MMA would be blacklisted from fighting in UFC. After pictures leaked of The Janitor and Frank Trigg, it was clear that despite ZUFFA’s initial warning, people were still hopping over to whatever backyard EA Sports is located in. As far as Randy Couture, during his contract negotiations with the UFC, he signed with EA to appear in Command and Conquer alongside Gina Carano…but you guys probably already knew that. In an interview with Kotaku, Dana White admits that he’s backed off his initial threats to ban fighters from appearing in EA MMA, but he still despises the company.

Nah, some people have crossed over but believe me this is still going to continue to be a battle. …they’re the me-toos. The UFC game is the original game.”

“They’re bigger than THQ. They have been. Let’s see how they do now. Their earnings reports just came out and they suck. This company that used to control the whole video game world and were these big [expletive] giants, we’ll see where they are in the next two years. And as as far as the MMA space goes, we’ll kick the living [expletive] out of them.”

“If there’s anybody out there who is a UFC fan, you’re [expletive] nuts if you buy the EA game.”

Dana White and the expletives. If I had a penny for every time Dana dropped the ‘F’ bomb…I would be the most annoying customer at Walgreens. [Source]
