Dan Severn is going for his 100th win tonight!

I’ve been trying to get a hold of Dan Severn for the last few days to quickly chat about the fact that he is going after his 100th documented MMA win tonight in Worcester, but as 100+ opponents could testify, he’s a hard one to pin down. Now no one will know if Dan will pay tribute to the fallen Macho Man Randy Savage, one of his pro wrestling brothers in arms who passed away earlier today. The world mourns with technicolor cowboy hats and Slim Jims, but Dan has butt to kick and a milestone to reach. The Worcester Telegram and Gazette (which sounds like it was founded in the 1700’s) spoke to Dan about this incredible achievement he is about to unlock.

“In my mind, I passed 100 wins a long time ago,” Severn said. “But the promotions for which I fought way back in the day don’t even exist anymore, and no one really kept official records, so the next win will be a special moment.”

“MMA has come a long way since its start, when it was called blood sport and human cockfighting, but we aren’t completely there yet,” Severn said. “I am an ambassador of the sport, trying to show people that it should be accepted in all 50 states and that the guys who compete are superb athletes.”

Lets hope The Beast hits the century mark in style.
