Cynthia Calvillo missed the scale at UFC Fight Night 140 weigh-in! The limit for UFC Strawweight division is 115 pounds, while Calvillo weighed 118. But that’s not the worst thing! Look at this disturbing video below and you’ll see why weight cuts are the most dangerous thing in the UFC!

Cynthia Calvillo walked slower than a turtle and looked so sad and tired! The Mexican Strawweight competitor could collapse at any second! She even needed help to climb on the scale!

Joe Rogan once said that brutal weight cuts were the higher level of cheating compared to PEDs. Maybe, but think about health risks! It’s a kidney suicide! There were even fighters who died after “weight loss”. ONE FC changed rules after a 21-year-old Flyweight competitor from China Yang Jian Bing tragically passed away in 2015. Fighters are checked on a regular basis. Fighter safety is in the first place!

The match between Cynthia Calvillo and Poliana Botelho is set for the main card of UFC Fight Night 140. It’s set to go down tomorrow evening inside Parque Roca Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Calvillo (6-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) also missed the scale at UFC Fight Night 113 on July 16, 2017, for the fight versus Joanne Calderwood. She also had 3 extra pounds. But this time she looked like a walking dead! Can she recover until tomorrow? Cristiano Sampaio from Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission thinks positively. (via MMAMania.com)

“She did an evaluation and everything is alright,” Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission COO Cristiano Sampaio told MMA Fighting. “She will rest now, hydrate, eat, and then she will be ready.”

We hope the Cynthia Calvillo will be able to fight. What do you think, will this disturbing experience affect her performance? Maybe she should think about her health and move one division up! Should UFC change rules?

  1. An interesting issue here is, did the staff raise the drape high enough off of the scale? Cynthia Calvillo kept asking them to raise it higher and it seemed very rushed. The guy calling out the weight didn’t seem to be focused on if it had cleared. Just looked sloppy and unorganized! Here coaching staff should have been there to make sure it was cleared…
