It looks like Cris Cyborg may be finally getting her wish to compete in boxing.
The Bellator Featherweight Champion has expressed much interest in stepping into the ring and that just might be the case for her later this year. According to Sports Illustrated, Cyborg is in talks to debut against world champion Katie Taylor.
The fight is far from being made official but negotiations are underway for the grand spectacle.
Negotiations are ongoing for @KatieTaylor to face MMA star @CrisCyborg in a boxing match, sources told @SInow. No deal yet, but the hope is for for Taylor to face Cyborg in December — and then move forward with a rematch against Amanda Serrano in Ireland next spring.

Cyborg is currently riding a 6-fight win streak in MMA. In her last outing, the featherweight machine would defend her title against former boxing champ Arlene Blencowe in April. It wouldn’t be the easiest test for Cyborg, but the Brazilian would ultimately beat Blencowe over the distance.
With four successful title defenses under the Bellator banner, Cyborg is now looking to test herself in the squared circle. If everything comes into fruition, ‘The Grand Slam Champion’ will going to bat against the #1 pound-for-pound female boxer on the planet.
Taylor, holder of multiple world titles, is coming off a split decision win over Amanda Serrano in her latest fight. It looks like the Irish superstar won’t be taking a break from super-fights with Cyborg in her sights.
Katie Taylor is also expected to rematch Amanda Serrano next Spring, should she clear out Cris Cyborg.
