‘Cowboy’ is riding into UFC 276.
After a fight fallout with Joe Lauzon last week, Donald Cerrone gets another fight booked on short notice. Cerrone will cross paths with former foe Jim Miller on July 2nd. The bout will go down at welterweight. The matchup was first reported by ESPN.
Miller was originally booked against Bobby Green but things didn’t go according to plan as ‘King’ would withdraw from his bout due to undisclosed reasons.
Cerrone makes his 38th UFC appearance against Miller at UFC 276. The UFC veteran has hit a string of bad luck recently, going winless in his last six fights. Along with his losing streak, ‘Cowboy’ has also been very unlucky in getting a fight booked. He has had three fights with Joe Lauzon cancelled, with the last two being shut down on fight day.
‘Cowboy’ looks to bag two more wins before riding into the sunset that is retirement. That will start with a win over Miller, somebody he beat back in 2014.
Miller looks to avenge that very TKO loss from all of those years ago. Unlike Cerrone, the 38 year-old is experiencing some good success late into his career. Miller is coming off back-to-back wins over prospects Nikolas Motta and Erick Gonzalez. He will look to make it three in a row when he rematches Cerrone.
