Conor McGregor’s Black Forge Inn has reportedly lost several million dollars over the last two years.
In 2021, ‘The Notorious’ opened The Black Forge Inn, an upscale pub in Dublin, Ireland. Since then, the fancy establishment has become a well-known spot in the MMA community, as McGregor consistently visits and posts about his experiences on social media.
Unfortunately, the business venture hasn’t been overly successful financially thus far. According to a report released by MMA Fighting, McGregor’s Irish pub suffered a nearly $1.8 million loss in 2021, which was initially revealed by The Independent, an Irish news source.
It should be noted that the Dublin-based business was experiencing negative effects from the COVID-19 pandemic at the time. With that said, The Black Forge Inn lost another $600,000 in 2022.
Luckily for ‘The Notorious,’ there’s no need to panic, as new businesses tend to operate at a loss while expanding. McGregor doesn’t seem to be losing any hope, with his expansion into Forged Irish Stout beer being a clear indicator that he’s happy with the progress.
Although a $2 million loss sounds alarming, there are several positives to take away, including the Irish pub’s brand continuing to grow. In fact, there are contrary statistics stating McGregor’s pub has been a success thus far, especially considering the circumstances.
Contrary numbers show Conor McGregor’s Black Forge Inn is arguably succeeding
According to the previously mentioned MMA Fighting report, The Black Forge Inn has made progress on paying off their initial loan. At the end of 2022, the Irish pub decreased the amount owed from 5.3 million euros to 4.1 million euros.
To make things better, Jemmy Ventures, an Irish financial company, valued The Black Forge Inn at nearly $6.1 million. Therefore, Conor McGregor’s Irish pub has a bright future depending on the perspective used to analyze their numbers over the last two years.
In the meantime, McGregor is preparing to make his highly-anticipated UFC return after last fighting in July 2021, a first-round TKO loss against Dustin Poirier.
Once he returns, the former two-division UFC champion is expected to fight Michael Chandler, who he coached against on The Ultimate Fighter Season 31. The date and location of the clash between UFC superstars hasn’t been confirmed, but the UFC 300 main event isn’t out of the question.
