Colby Covington Would Like A Boxing Match Versus Nick Diaz

Colby Covington: “I Will Mark Nick Diaz Face Up, I Don’t Even Need A Training Camp, We Can Do A Boxing Match”

It was about time that two legendary trash-talkers cross each other paths. Both fighters are pretty successful in the world of mixed martial arts. Colby Covington is a former UFC Welterweight Interim champion. Nick Diaz is a former WEC and Strikeforce champion and two-times UFC Welterweight division runner-up.

Nick Diaz remained known for challenging and insulting Robbie Lawler whole time during their UFC 47 showdown on April 2, 2004. He also didn’t keep his mouth shut in the title shot against Carlos Condit at UFC 143 on February 4, 2012. On the other side, Colby Covington enjoys picking random victims. He trash-talked Derrick Lewis, Rafael dos Anjos, Stephen Thompson. He also verbally attacked NFL superstar Colin Kaepernick.

Colby Covington took aim at Nick Diaz in the mid of July with a fiery tweet. Chaos “didn’t know” that El Diablo could tweet from prison. Covington attacked Diaz for beating women, not real opponents. Of course, Nick Diaz replied shortly.

But Nick Diaz was able to evade prison. Domestic battery assault case against El Diablo is dismissed, so he can focus on UFC return. Chaos says he would accept a boxing match versus Diaz. He stated he needs no training camp to “take down that little bum”. Covington also adds he will wreck Nick Diaz apart. According to Colby Covington, Nick Diaz only wants media attention. “I’M OVER IT AT THIS POINT. I KNOW NICK DIAZ DOESN’T WANT TO FIGHT ME. IF HE WANTS TO FIGHT, DUDE, I’LL PUT IN THE CONTRACT RIGHT NOW. WE COULD DO A BOXING MATCH. WE COULD DO ZUFFA BOXING. YOU WANT TO SET UP A BOXING MATCH? WE CAN DO A BOXING MATCH. I’LL MARK THAT GUY’S FACE UP. HE’LL NEVER FIGHT AGAIN. I’LL DO NO TAKEDOWNS. I DON’T NEED TO TAKE DOWN THAT LITTLE BUM.

HE’S PAST HIS TIME. HE’S OVER THE HILL. HE’S A JOKE. THAT’S EASY MONEY FOR ME. I DON’T EVEN NEED A TRAINING CAMP. IF HE WANTS TO, HE COULD TELL ME WHEN HE WANTS TO FIGHT, TRAIN FOR HIS WHOLE LIFE, DO WHATEVER AND TELL ME A WEEK BEFORE THE FIGHT AND I’LL SHOW UP. NO TAKEDOWNS.

STAND-UP, AND I’LL MARK THAT LITTLE BITCH’S FACE UP. IT’S A FIGHT THAT INTERESTS ME. HE TALKS A LOT OF SHIT. HE’S PUT UP SOME VIDEOS KIND OF TALKING SHIT ABOUT ME, BUT HE’S JUST DOING TALKING, MAN. HE AIN’T WALKING THE WALK LIKE I DO.

TO BE HONEST, NO, I DON’T BELIEVE HE WILL [COME BACK]. HE’S JUST USING THIS AS A PLATFORM TO GET ATTENTION. HE WANTS TO STAY IN THE MEDIA. HE WANTS TO KEEP HIS NAME HOT. MAYBE HE’LL GET SOME SPONSORSHIP DEALS FROM SOME WEED COMPANIES. BUT HE’S NOT GOING TO FIGHT, MAN. HE’S BEEN SAYING THIS SAME SHIT FOR THE LAST COUPLE YEARS. HE’S ALREADY CASHED OUT.”

Nick Diaz last fought at UFC 183 on January 31, 2015, versus Anderson Silva. Silva originally won via unanimous decision, but the fight was later overturned to no contest. The Spider was positive on drostanolone and androsterone. Colby Covington defeated Rafael dos Anjos at the co-main event of UFC 225 on June 9, 2018. Chaos was pressing him against the cage like a leech and won via unanimous decision. He also won UFC Interim Welterweight title after the match.

Do you think this boxing match is only a way to get media attention? After all, Nick Diaz could knock Covington out. Chaos’ strongest weapon is wrestling, not punching. Don’t forget El Diablo’s punches were sending many opponents to the ground. Would you like this fight to happen?
