Brendan Schaub isn’t on board with UFC President Dana White publicly saying he thinks Aljamain Sterling didn’t deserve to win at UFC 273.

Sterling took on Petr Yan in a title unification bout on April 9. This was a rematch from their March 2021 encounter, which ended when Yan was disqualified for landing an illegal knee. In the rematch, Sterling was able to find success with his grappling but appeared to fade late. Still, he was able to avoid trouble and nabbed the split nod.

After the fight, Dana told media members that he thinks the judges “blew it” with the decision.

Brendan Schaub On Dana-Sterling Fiasco

Brendan Schaub doesn’t agree with how Dana White handled things after the fight. During an episode of The Schaub Show, the former UFC heavyweight said Dana is doing no favors for Sterling (h/t MMAFighting.com).

“When you’re the president of the UFC, you have a responsibility. So when you say the judges got that one wrong, now you f***** Aljamain Sterling over. Now you f***** him. Because he beat the naysayers, he beat the haters, he shut everybody up. But now it resurfaces because the most powerful man in the UFC says, ‘He didn’t win that fight.’ Which, you don’t know what you’re talking about. You’re wrong, dude.

“You f***** your fighter over,” Schaub said. “Now, he has to go back to the drawing board and deal with more of this stupid f****** hate. And why? Because he won three out of five [rounds]? But you watch it from cageside on the little monitor, and you rush to judgment before watching it for a second or third time. It should be your f****** responsibility, your duty, should be to make sure if you say that stuff that you’re going based off the criteria that the fighters have to go off of when it comes to judging. But you don’t. You came to a quick judgment, and it f***** your fighter. It f**** your champion. Because that’s out there.”

Dana has said that TJ Dillashaw is likely next for Sterling. He also said that a third fight with Yan is always on the table.
