Former UFC heavyweight competitor Brendan Schaub called Jake Shields’ attack on Mike Jackson at the UFC Performance Institute last week an “assault” during a recent episode of ‘The Schaub Show‘ on YouTube.
After trading jabs with one another on Twitter for weeks, 1-2 fighter Mike ‘The Truth’ Jackson finally ran into former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields when the two were putting in work at the UFC PI in Las Vegas last week. According to Jackson, Shields instigated things by approaching him with five other guys before taking him down and throwing some punches until onlookers stepped in to break things up.
Discussing the incident on his podcast, Schaub labeled the incident as a clear assault and expects charges to be filed, especially considering the altercation occurred on company property.
“The problem is, this is assault brotha. I would assume at the PI, they’re gonna press charges.”
“You don’t want fights happening at your headquarters and stuff like that, but you’d think of any business in the world, the UFC will go, ‘I get it.’ Also, two professional fighters. One’s talking sh*t. They run into each other, that’s what happens.”
Finally ran into the bitch Mike Jackson
He quickly discovered the difference between calling people Nazis In person vs on Twitter

Brendan Schaub Shows Respect For Mike Jackson Following Jake Shields Incident
Whether you see it as a clear assault or just two professional fighters settling their differences with their fists, Brendan Schaub believes Mike Jackson earned some respect for his willingness to stand up to Jake Shields in person. Though he clearly didn’t fare well in the altercation, Jackson earned Schaub’s respect for his willingness to engage with someone far beyond his skill level
“Mike Jackson compared to Jake Shields would be a normal person. He’s just a journalist compared to Jake Shields’ credentials and his fighting history. Like, Jake Shields is as real as they get. So for Mike Jackson who’s a reporter, one foot in, one foot out, compared to Jake he’d just be a normal guy, but I will say this. It’s so easy to talk sh*t to someone behind a cap profile or meme and your real name’s not attached to it because you know there’s no consequences. So what I respect out of Mike Jackson is… Again, I don’t know all the details so many so people might be like, ‘Dude, you’re wrong,’ but for him to talk sh*t and then try to back it up. Respect.
“99.999% of these haters would never say anything to your face. I respect Mike Jackson. Guy has some b*lls because Jake Shields is definitely a better fighter in every category. In every facet of this fight game, Jake Shields is a Hall of Famer. Mike Jackson is not. Mike Jackson is a good reporter. A good journalist. Kudos to him for even jumping in there to take fights. Bada** dude. Fighting CM Punk? Bada** right? So for him to talk all that stuff and then actually show up.”
