Brendan Schaub: Cris Cyborg Would Knock CM Punk’s F*cking Head Off

Brendan Schaub who hosts the wildly successful “Fighter & The Kid” podcast, where he recently weigh-in on former WWE star CM Punk.

UFC signed CM Punk back in late 2014, despite zero fighting experience. He made his MMA debut at UFC 203 in September 2016 and was fell badly in a first-round submission loss to Mickey Gall.

“I’ll tell ya what, maybe it’s because I just watched that movie ‘Battle of the Sexes’… I was thinki’ today, what do you do with CM Punk? There’s not a man on the roster that does not walk through him in under a minute. So what do you do with him? You’re obviously gonna give him another fight… Is he a ratings draw…? I don’t think so. There was that mystery like, ‘god, how would he do?’ then we were like, ‘oh my god that was awful’. It was so bad you don’t want to see him fight again.

The hardcore fans go, ‘alright, if he’s gonna take another one, we’ll tune in…see if he’s made any improvement, we don’t expect much out of him’ so you’re definitely not paying for that on pay-per-view. Maybe put him on a Fox if…jesus christ, what they’re putting on Fox these days…

Maybe put him on a Fox…what about a [Cris] Cyborg? What if you do a battle of the sexes? What about this whole ‘MeToo’ movement and you put one for the ladies and let Cyborg knock his f*ckin’ head off. She would knock his f*cking head off. What about that?

Why not do it? I mean, you’re having a tough enough time, you’re making these super fights… And you wanna…kind of jump on this whole bandwagon of this ‘MeToo’ movement and ‘we care about women’ stuff like that, let Cyborg fight CM Punk. See how that goes for him. Even Amanda Nunes, even a Rose [Namajunas]… Even a [Joanna] Jedrzejcyk would put it on him. Do the battle of the sexes thing.

I dont know if you’d get it cleared by any commision in the world, maybe take your ass to China and do it. Do it in Japan. Brazil wouldn’t give a f*ck. There’s not a man on the roster that does not beat him so I don’t know what you do with him to make it compelling. Feed him to Cyborg, see those ratings.”

UFC president Dana White sees Punk’s case as completely different from “most normal human beings.” and said

“I like that guy. He’s a good dude,” White said. “He wants one more. He wants to get another shot. I’m going to give it to him.”

It’s not very clear that he will get another shot in UFC, It probably won’t be against any of the current female champions, but Brendan Schaub brings up some thought-provoking points.
