Brandon Moreno made his professional wrestling debut at Lucha Libre AAA’s Triplemania XXXI.
Lucha Libre AAA is in the midst of a three-part event called Triplemania XXXI, featuring star-studded professional wrestling matches on April 16, July 15, and August 12.
On Saturday night, the second part was held at the Tijuana National Stadium, a.k.a. Estadio Nacional de Tijuana. Several must-see matches occurred throughout the night, including El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Kenny Omega and Pentagon Jr. vs. QT Marshall.
For those not interested in professional wrestling, there was another reason to watch. Former UFC flyweight champion Branon Moreno was in action during the Team Baja vs. Team Chilango match. ‘The Assassin Baby’ stepped into the ring to confront Daga, and things escalated quickly.
Daga made the mistake of pushing and slapping Moreno. As a result, the UFC superstars “landed” a spinning back kick, followed by a flying knee and an armbar. ‘The Assassin Baby’ wasn’t able to fully be involved due to his broken hand suffered against Alexandre Pantoja, but he still made an impact on the match.
Moreno’s Triplemania appearance was announced before he stepped into the ring against Pantoja at UFC 290, where he lost his flyweight title by split decision. Therefore, it’s unclear if he initially planned to have a more significant role in his professional wrestling debut.

Brandon Moreno’s martial arts skills and undeniable charisma make him a perfect candidate for professional wrestling. Moreno still has plenty of fights in him, but there is a possibility he pursues professional wrestling after MMA.
After his viral moment at Triplemania, Moreno posted a picture on Instagram with Team Baja and had this to say in the caption:

Moreno’s loss against Alexandre Pantoja ended his momentum after winning back-to-back title fights against Kai Kara-France and Deiveson Figueiredo. ‘The Assassin Baby’ has now lost against Pantoja three times, including two in the UFC and one on The Ultimate Fighter.
Only time will tell if Moreno gets another chance to take out the reigning UFC flyweight champion.
