Bobby Lashley won’t be fighting Shane Del Rosario

If freakishly large muscles were currency, Lashley could donate his thigh to save Darfur. Lashley is 5-0 in MMA and has defeated Bob Sapp via brutal ground and pound, Clay Guida’s brother through a unanimous decision, Mike Cook via humiliation and Wes Sims through, well, I’m not sure what that was. When he isn’t staring in Lucha Libre fights he usually trains with Autobots in Denver, Colorado. Dude is everything you ever wanted to be since you picked up your first Thor comic when you were a kid.

Last December, the rumor going around was Bobby Lashley was set to clash with Shane Del Rosario at Strikeforce Miami. You guys know those tomato cans that your grandmother stockpiles in her pantry for when the apocalypse comes? Well Shane is the exact opposite.

Dude is 9-0 and only one fight has gone past the second round. He’s upset previously undefeated fighters like Carl Seumanutafa (a guy that KOd Mike Cook with one slam) and when Del Rosario was clearly rocked by Brandon Cash last year in Strikeforce, he managed to regain his composure and finish Cash with a slick omoplata in under three minutes. Shane Del Rosario also likes to pick up supermodels on fashion show catwalks.

We all expected to see this match-up materialize at Strikeforce Los Angeles this June but according to Shane Del Rosario’s team (via Fightlinker), even though Lashley has agreed to fight Rosario, the bout is not going down on June 16th. Instead, both fighters will be featured on the Los Angeles card, just not banging against each other. Bummer. I guess Lashley is still aiming for the shot with Fedor. Good luck with that. [Source]
