Bobby Green has doubled down on his accusation against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev.

Green and Makhachev headlined UFC Vegas 49 in February 2022, as ‘King’ took the bout on short notice. Makhachev ended up winning by first-round TKO in a dominant one-sided performance.

Months after the loss, as Bobby Green returned to the Octagon in December, he took aim at Islam Makhachev and accused him of using steroids. Although some thought it was him just being made at the defeat, nearly two years later, Green is still on the subject as ahead of his UFC Vegas 80 fight, he doubled down on it and explained how Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomdov got out of being drug tested by USADA.

“The Russian be cheating right now. No disrespect to none of the Russian people if you my fans, I f**k with you but I be seeing some funny s**tt that I’m like, ‘Oh.’ Because I know people all around and in different sections and stuff,” Green said on Jaxxon podcast. “For instance, Khabib and Islam, they go to a mosque, you know? They train at some place where they can’t be, you can’t go to, USADA can’t come in here. For months, they can do whatever they wanna do. Actually, Islam got caught for drugs, when he first came. But he was like ‘Oh, I didn’t know. This is all the stuff that Russia was giving us as we were kids. We were training, and these were naturally part of the training, these were vitamins.

“He got suspended. I don’t know the full details of how long or whatnot, but yeah, when he first came over. So, he was like this is what they gave us at school,” Green continued. “They said it was vitamins, you know? So this is what they do. In our country, we’re a little bit different, where we wanna take everything from everybody. In their country, they wanna make you big, strong, tougher, harder. So, it’s a little murky.”

As Bobby Green says, Islam Makahchev was flagged by USADA in 2016 for using a performance-enhancing drug. However, months later, he was found to be “without fault or negligence” and there would be no further punishment. Khabib Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, never failed a USADA test and remained in the testing pool for months after his retirement.

Green, meanwhile, was suspended for six months last October for a failed drug test. However, the drug was DHEA, which can be sold legally in the United States as a dietary supplement. He reportedly watched a video on the benefits of DHEA from a dietary perspective but didn’t realize it was a banned substance.
