  • Bob Sapp has been fit and is yearning for scrap with Mike Tyson
  • The MMA legend has issued a bizarre challenge for “Iron Mike”

Currently, Bob Sapp is training in Phuket, and he has been working hard to improve his skills. He is a veteran of both K-1 and Pride, and will celebrate his 49th birthday later this year. At the present time, though, he appears to be in amazing shape.

Mike Tyson has yet to pick his next opponent but he may need to look no further as Bob Sapp has now rekindled their past rivalry. Sapp claims Tyson has been ducking him for quite some time now and it’s about time they finally settle it in a fight.

It’s on

It can be recalled that Tyson revealed in an appearance on The Joe Rogan podcast that he was supposed to face Sapp, but for some reason, he ended up taking on Roy Jones Jr. in his return. Addressing the matter on an Instagram post, Sapp doubled down on his interest to face “Iron Mike.”

Even more interesting, the K-1 legend is also open to a wild 3-on-3 match since he believes Tyson is scared to fight him alone.

“We all know what happened when you and I talked about the fight,” Sapp said in the video. “I sent you a photo along with this sentence, ‘Mike if you fight me I will rip your heart out and tear it to shreds and it still applies.”

“I’ve got a challenge for you. Since you stopped running listen to me for a second, you and me and two of my best fighters vs two of your best fighters. Marquess of Queensbury Rules because you’re too scared to fight me on one. That’s my challenge you know my age. Fight me or my crew.”

Mike Tyson is quoted in the video confirming he was prepared to fight Sapp before Roy Jones Jr took over as his opponent.

“How would they like me to fight [Sapp]?” Tyson said. “Can I fight him under the Marquis of Queensbury rules? The guy said yes. I said I’ll fight him. It went from him to somebody else to some other guy from MMA then this guy, and next thing you know it came down to Roy [Jones Jr.]. I’m like, ‘I don’t know what the hell is going on.”

Sapp is ripped

Sapp is now in his late 40s but in the video he posted, it’s hard not to notice his incredibly shredded physique- a set of bulging biceps and a six-pack.

Tyson and Sapp’s feud dates back to 2003 when “The Beast” beat Kimo Leopoldo at a K-1 event in Las Vegas. After the fight, “Iron Mike” entered the ring and had an epic back and forth with Sapp. However, a deal never materialized and the two never faced each other.

Sapp may have not fought since 2018 but he is coming off a decision victory over Osunaarashi at Rizin 13. Sapp looks way better today than he did back then. When he beat the Egyptian, the MMA veteran broke a 14-fight losing streak.

He’s clearly interested in Tyson, and that will be the most lucrative fight available to him. He doesn’t have much experience in boxing, but he would have an advantage in weight.
