Bellator has booked two incredible title fights for April.
Two Title Fights
The final of the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix lands in San Jose, California. Champ Vadim Nemkov will defend his gold against #1 contender Corey Anderson in the co-headliner of Bellator 277 on April 15th.
The two men in the marquee will be featherweight king AJ McKee and former champ-champ Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire. Both matchups were reported by OC Register on Wednesday.
The Rematch
The featherweights will run it back after McKee submitted Pitbull last July. Pitbull will look to avenge his first loss in 5 years, when he meets ‘The Mercenary’ in San Jose once again. He even gave up his lightweight belt to focus on his rival at 145lbs.
McKee would win not only the featherweight belt off Pitbull, but also a hefty payday. He’d earn $1M after beating Pitbull in the finale of the Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix.
Another Grand Finale
For light heavyweights Vadim Nemkov and Corey Anderson, they too also have their eyes on the big prize of $1M. Nemkov and Anderson enter the final match-up of their Grand Prix at 205lbs.
Nemkov has successfully defend his belt twice in the tournament, decisioning Phil Davis and submitting Julius Anglickas.
On the other side of the bracket, the former UFC contender has been beating the brakes off his opponents. He’d TKO both Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov and Ryan Bader in 2021.
Talk about some insane match-ups. Both title fights look to deliver at Bellator 277 on April 15, in San Jose, CA.
