Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva has unretired after hanging up the gloves nine days ago.

In August 2015, Silva secured a second-round TKO against Soa Palelei at UFC 190. Since then, the former UFC heavyweight title challenger has endured a devastating turnaround in his career, leading to eleven consecutive losses between the UFC, Glory Kickboxing, professional boxing, BKFC, and various other MMA promotions

On June 10, ‘Bigfoot’ suffered his latest MMA loss against Salim El Ouassaidi at Kingdom Fighting 1 in France. Shortly after the unanimous decision was announced, the 43-year-old announced his retirement, which he’s done in the past before returning.

Silva recently unretired again, which he revealed with this message posted on Instagram:

“Let’s do a rematch @kingdom.fighting @giompeltier I’m ready and I’m coming back from retirement to fight again because I know I didn’t lose … #letsgo #fight #nego #paraiba”

Fans plead with Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva to retire permanently

Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva was once one of the best heavyweight fighters on the planet. Unfortunately, father time is undefeated, and Silva hasn’t been the same over the last few years. The worst part is that the former UFC heavyweight title challenger has sustained a massive amount of damage during his eleven-fight losing streak.

Once Silva announced he was unretiring, the Instagram comment section was filled with fans telling him not to fight again, including some saying:

“No man. Just retire and be with your family”

“HES LOST 11 in a row his team must hate him 😂 time to hang it up 6 fights ago this is just sad”

“Nobody wants to see you fight anymore. Please stop. I know it’s hard to give up on your passion. Go do coaching and stuff.”

“Just f*cking stop. Nobody wants to see you fight anymore. You’ve lost so many damn fights in a row. Your retirements are even a d*mn joke now”

“Time to hang ‘em up big fella we love you and thanks for all the fights you gave us but you have got to stop. Be a trainer you are very knowledged I hate seeing you fight knowing what you were in you’re prime sorry”

A scary aspect of the MMA industry is that Silva will continue to get offered fights in various countries due to his name value. Therefore, the only person who can stop ‘Bigfoot’ from bleeding is himself. Only time will tell when the 43-year-old decides to retire once and for all.
