Anthony Pettis wasn’t proud of his performance last night against Nate Diaz at UFC 241

Pettis suffered a unanimous decision defeat ( 30-27, 30-27, 29-28) due to Nate closing the distance and pouring on a variety of short-range striking. Couple that with high class grappling and it’s no surprise that Pettis wasn’t able to maintain his kicking range to provide another highlight to his reel. Pettis also broke his foot in the fight, limiting his striking.

The hospital checked in its newest patient after Pettis broke his foot.

Apparently, during the first round of the match, Pettis broke his foot. It’s difficult to pinpoint the sequence of exactly when the break occurred. However, it was obvious when “Showtime” started to shy away from throwing any kicks at all.

Pettis took to social media to share a pair of photos in regards to the loss.

Pettis shared a photo of his injured foot caused by the fight. Pettis captioned the photo “you have a hard-ass head homie lol.” Also, in his own comment section, Pettis said: “After watching the fight good fuc*ing check.”

Duke Roufus (Pettis’s coach) told Ariel Helwani of ESPN that the break may require surgery. Although Team Pettis is not 100% sure if they indeed need an operation, Roufus shared that they would know for sure when they got back to Milwaukee.

Pettis has now lost 7 of his last 11 professional bouts in the UFC.

While he seemed to be hitting his stride after a KO of Wonderboy Thompson, his continued pattern of winning a fight and losing a fight dates all the way back to August 27th, 2016. It’s uncertain what fight is next for Pettis and what division it will happen in.

Who do you think should be next for Pettis” Which division should he focus his attention on when he returns? If his next fight continues his pattern, it should end in a highlight reel KO.
