Heavy hitters meet in a headliner.
The main event of UFC Charlotte features a heavyweight matchup between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and the rising Jailton Almeida. Almeida looks to go 5-0 in the UFC while Rozenstruik will try to string two wins together. The ABC-streamed action takes place at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Round 1:
Both men meet in the middle with Almeida trying for a takedown and Rozenstruik throwing strikes. Rozenstruik sprawls and then they separate. Almeida eventually does get the takedown on Rozenstruik and establishes dominance with top control. Almeida holds him down while landing little strikes to the body of ‘Bigi Boy’.
They inch closer and closer to the cage as more seconds pass. Rozenstruik tries to work his way up but Almeida doesn’t let him. Almeida gets the back of Rozenstruik and sinks in a rear-naked choke. With this locked in, Rozenstruik is forced to tap out.
