- Aljamain Sterling is planning to run his own rum company
- The reigning bantamweight champion might ask Conor McGregor for help
Aljamain Sterling is seemingly following the Conor McGregor blueprint. As things stand, “Funk Master” is currently enjoying his time as the UFC bantamweight champion but has been in a constant war of words with former champion T.J. Dillashaw.
But like McGregor, Aljo is also exploring the liquor industry and is now starting his own rum company. Of course, the champ wants to learn a thing or two with the Proper 12 founder.

Aljo in McGregor’s DMs
In a recent interview with The Mac Life, Sterling kicked things off by taking a shot of McGregor’s Proper 12 whiskey. After downing the glass, the champ said that he might slide in the Irish MMA superstar’s “DMs” to ask for help.
“Hey, [McGregor] I might need some help with my rum company so I might slide in your DMs, in your DMs,” Sterling said while mimicking McGregor’s Irish accent. “I hope you respond.”
Nothing is concrete yet
Sterling’s rum business is yet to make a huge progress and so is his next title fight. At the moment, “Funk Master” is being linked to a trilogy bout with arch-rival Petr Yan and the seemingly intensifying beef with Dillashaw is still nothing but talks.
What lies ahead of Sterling? Only the UFC could tell.
