Conor McGregor could be back in action very soon.

The Irishman hasn’t competed since suffering a leg break in his TKO defeat to Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight last July.

However, a year on from that setback, McGregor is looking to finally return and start his comeback trail in proper fashion.

Further proof of that has been his recent posts on social media showing him training and sparring as his leg looks to be fully recovered.

John Kavanagh: Conor McGregor Is Back Healthy

However, there is no better source of information on the former lightweight champion’s status than his head coach in John Kavanagh who revealed he recently had a grappling session with McGregor.

It was notably the first time they had done so since the buildup to the Poirier trilogy.

More than anything, Kavanagh’s biggest revelation was that McGregor was training in all facets of mixed martial arts again.

“I don’t know if you can see the few nicks and marks on my forehead,” Kavanagh told The Mac Life. “He showed up by surprise. He grabbed me by the neck and I was subjected to a couple of rounds by this 2000 pound gorilla.

“… We had a great rollaround. I think that was literally my first time doing grappling with him since the leadup to the last fight so it’s been a while now. He’s back healthy now, he’s back being able to do all the facets of MMA training again.”

We should receive more information on a potential comeback date for McGregor in the coming weeks. As for who he wants to face? It’s either Charles Oliveira or welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at this point.

However, there are a number of options for McGregor as there always has been.
