Alexandre Pantoja wasn’t happy when he found out he wasn’t getting a title shot.

In Deveison Figueiredo’s absence, it was revealed that Brandon Moreno will be fighting Kai Kara France for the interim title at UFC 277. With this booking, Pantoja is the odd man out once again.

The #3 ranked flyweight has been campaigning for a title opportunity for quite some time now. Pantoja has made the pitch to fight both Moreno and Figueiredo on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, securing those rematches has been unsuccessful for the Brazilian.

Pantoja Was Upset With The Booking

With Moreno vs. Kara France on the horizon, Pantoja would not shy away from his feelings on the matchup.

“I was upset that it didn’t look like everything I did in the division,” Pantoja told MMA Junkie. “I’m showing every fight the level I’m at and I want to be recognized by the UFC, but I really believe in this company which made my art get paid for that.”

‘I Beat Them Both In One Week’

Pantoja has quite the history when it comes to Moreno and Kara France. He beat the both of them on season 24 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. Pantoja also holds a UFC win over Moreno from 2018.

“I beat them both in one week,” Pantoja continued. “It’s been a while but nothing changes that and the brunette must still have nightmares of his last fight with me, but being very honest I am very happy with my division. The boys are doing a great job, but I have what no other fighter has, something that when the cage is locked you can feel.”

Should Alexandre Pantoja have gotten the interim title shot?
