Alex Pereira has followed in Anderson Silva’s footsteps by learning from Steven Seagal.
Seagal has become a meme within the MMA space, with many pretending his advice is the sole reason Silva became one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time. Now, “Poatan” is going all in, taking in a technique from the action film star.
Pereira, the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, has been on a tear inside the Octagon as of late. He’s fresh off a second-round finish over Jiri Prochazka to capture the gold. Now, with knowledge from the almighty Seagal, there’s no telling what Alex Pereira will be capable of going forward.

“Bullshido expert, it’s an honor. If Sensei Seagal wanted to end his life with one pressure point move, he could.”
Look out Glover Teixeira, there’s a new mentor for Alex Pereira.
“Poatan” was recently announced as a headliner for UFC 300 on April 13. He’ll be putting his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship up for grabs against Jamahal Hill inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hill will be fighting for the title he was never defeated for. “Sweet Dreams” vacated the 205-pound gold after suffering a ruptured Achilles. He has insisted that he’s healed and ready to go this spring.
Now, one must wonder if Sensei Seagal will be in Pereira’s corner for the big title fight.
