Xbox One to Include TitanFall for Free in Upcoming Bundle

Man, remember the days when you would go out and purchase a Nintendo system and included would be a new Mario game? Those were the days, weren’t they? It brought some value into a new console that you’d buy it and it would come with not only a game, but a great game. We’ve seen that trend disappear over the past few console generations — at least close to launch — with pack-ins only used near the end of a console’s life cycle to help push the system for the final year or so.

You can say what you will about the ongoing “console wars” between Sony and Microsoft, but it seems clear that Sony’s PlayStation 4 is outselling the Xbox One right now and that is, in part, due to a lower price tag. Microsoft is looking for a way to combat that (without removing the Kinect, they really want to push the Kinect and voice commands) by including a pack-in for a limited time of the upcoming Respawn multiplayer shooter that everyone is talking about, TitanFall. This is truly a bold move as TitanFall is *the game* that people are talking about when they talk about Xbox One and for those who have yet to pick up an Xbox One yet and are interested in TitanFall this is really the perfect opportunity.

So yes, the Xbox One will still be $500, but if you were planning on picking up TitanFall as well, you can count yourself as $60 richer because it will be included with the Xbox One while this deal lasts. Hell, even in certain parts of the world the Xbox One will see a price drop as well! So starting on March 11th you should be able to pick up an Xbox One with a shiny new code to download TitanFall for free, which doesn’t sound like a bad deal at all.
