Batman is an awesome superhero if only because he doesn’t have any actual super powers. He’s believable in the sense that he’s just an ultra rich guy who’s parents died and he wants to right the wrongs in the world. He’s vulnerable, so each time he goes to attempt to stop a crime, no matter how big or small, there’s a risk that he dies. It doesn’t need to be something where he “meets his match” it could just be the simplest of things. This is where Superman makes an awful superhero. Superman in a sense is perfect. He has super strength, super speed, he can fly, heal himself, shoot heat lasers out of his eyes. His only weakness is red sun radiation and kryptonite. Why should I pretend to care about someone who is so powerful? Why should I even believe for a second that Superman is at any risk at all? It’s the same problem with the WWE and John Cena. Cena is always booked as the underdog, trying to overcome some dastardly villain, except we all know that in the end it’ll end up one way and that’s LOLCENAWINS. Even when they have Cena lose, it’s never clean and it always makes his opponents look worse than when the match started.
Basically what I’m trying to say, both Superman and John Cena the character are awful.
Batman however is not, which is why you should check out the new Batman trailer and my god is it gorgeous.
