True Detective was an amazing experience in television, with HBO churning out eight tremendous episodes before the season was out, leaving us all feeling a bit more hollow on Sunday nights now that it’s over. That’s okay, though, because talk about the second season has already started to percolate, including rumors about Brad Pitt being courted to star in the second season, which will apparently take place in seedy parts of California. The only thing is that HBO hasn’t officially renewed it yet, but none of us are doubting that after record-high ratings for the debut and for the fervor caused by the HBO Go outage the night of the finale.
Some crafty YouTuber put together this video featuring characters from Batman set to the theme music and style of True Detective. Seeing as though Batman is the comic book world’s coolest “true detective” it just seems like a natural fit. Now we can only wonder what would happen if Nic Pizzolato was allowed to wrap his hands around the Batman license for a HBO noir-style show. I think we might actually die from being overwhelmed.
Props to Fedor Malakhov for being the world’s favorite Teddy.
