Dana White is on board with Nate Diaz’s suggestion of fighting Jake Paul.
Diaz has been struggling to land a fight for a while now and has continually called for his release from the UFC.
While White recently stated there was a possibility the Stockton native could compete at UFC 278, Diaz doesn’t think it’s likely.
On Tuesday, he once again called for his release if he didn’t get a fight in July or August. This time, he also teased a potential boxing match with Paul as he posted a clip of the latter’s knockout win over Tyron Woodley last year.
Ufc release now please or give me fight with anyone in July or august

To that, White responded:
“I mean, I like Nate. Let’s be honest, Nate’s won one fight in the last five or six years,” White told TheMacLife. “You know? When these guys get into these positions, you’ve got guys that have been with us for a long time, that we respect, that we care about. You know, you’ve got Cerrones and Anthony Pettis before he left, and you’ve got Nate Diaz and Nick Diaz is still under contract with us. So you want to be fair to everybody, you want to do the right things or whatever. Nate Diaz isn’t going to come in and fight Kamaru Usman.
“So listen, we’re trying to do the best we can. We’re trying not to s*** on anybody and disrespect anybody, but it’s not like we’re talking about Kamaru Usman here. We’re talking about Nate Diaz. Nate’s won one fight in five years, so we’re trying to figure this thing out with him. He probably should go on and fight Jake Paul. That’s a fight that makes sense.”
Jake Paul Responds To Dana White’s Comments About Nate Diaz
Whether White was talking about a boxing match between Diaz and Paul or an MMA fight remains to be seen for now.
However, that was certainly music to Paul’s ears as he has been calling for a fight with Diaz for a while now. Unsurprisingly, he responded to White soon after.
All while bringing up his previous offer of competing in the UFC.
“Dana – I’m happy to be Nate’s last fight in UFC. You know the terms: pay fighters more and give them healthcare. Sweetener: I will fight for free.”

Do you think we’ll see Nate Diaz and Jake Paul fight? If so, will it be in a boxing ring or inside the Octagon?
