There’s never been quite a build-up to a fight like Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney.

The two boxing stars are set to collide for the WBC Super Lightweight Championship tomorrow night from Brooklyn, New York. But, as of today, only Haney (31-0) is able to take the belt back home as the concerning challenger Garcia (24-1) has missed weight for the massive headliner.

On Friday morning, Garcia weighed in at 143.2lbs, which is 3lbs over the 140lb weight limit for his title fight. In contrast, Haney kept it professional, stepping onto the scale at 140lbs.

“I Did My Best To Make This Weight”

To make matters worse for the 25 year-old, Garcia now owes an astounding $1.5M to Haney after the two fighters agreed to fork over half a million dollars for each pound they missed weight by.

“I did my best to make this weight. I put myself through hell,” Garcia said, when asked why he missed weight. “Yeah, yeah. yeah, suck my d***!. At the end of the day, I’m the best fighter here. I’m gonna knock him out, and everybody’s gonna be cheering, watch!”

Garcia Apparently Honored The Bet

Garcia claims he’ll go through with the lucrative weight bet, agreeing to hand Haney $1.5M, which he considers “light work”. Haney says Garcia was a man of his word, at least when it came to this.

“Ryan honored the 500k per pound,” Haney wrote on ‘X‘.

Cracking A Cold One On Weigh-In Day

Garcia made even more headlines en route to his final face-off with Haney. Stepping onto the scale, Garcia chugged what looks to be a beer in front of the crowd before flexing to the cameras.

“100 percent worth it,” Garcia wrote on ‘X‘.

One Last Face-Off

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia would come face-to-face one more time before their upcoming fight tomorrow night with both fighter jawing at each other as you can see below.

“He’s very unprofessional,” Haney said of Garcia’s weight miss. “I’m a true professional. I told him yesterday his antics will betray him and this is just the start. Tomorrow, the world will see that I’m levels above this average fighter… It don’t matter what weight he came in. I’m a true champion, and I will show it.”
