Mike Tyson is being sued by a woman that claims the heavyweight boxing icon “violently” raped her in the early 1990s.
The anonymous accuser is suing Tyson for $5 million citing the “physical, psychological, and emotional injury” that she has sustained over the years following the alleged assault. An affidavit obtained by the New York Post did not provide an exact date but says that it happened at some point in the early 1990s. Tyson was convicted on February 10, 1992, after being convicted of raping 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington in Indianapolis. Tyson served three years in prison but vehemently denies the allegations to this day.

The alleged victim claims, as per the affidavit, that she ran into the boxing superstar at an Albany nightclub then-called “Septembers.” Tyson reportedly offered to pick up her friend in a limousine and take them both to a party. As soon as she stepped foot in the vehicle, Tyson allegedly began touching and trying to kiss her.
“I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me,” the woman said. “He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me.”

The plaintiff is seeking to remain anonymous as revealing her identity to the public “would certainly pose a risk to me of further mental harm, harassment, ridicule or personal embarrassment.”
There are several instances where Tyson has been accused of sexual assault in the past. Aside from his 1992 conviction for rape, Tyson’s first wife Robin Givens stated that their marriage was plagued by “unprovoked rages of violence and destruction.” His second wife Monica Turner accused the former heavyweight champion of committing adultery during their six-year marriage.
In 2009, Mike Tyson married his third wife, Monica Spicer, shortly after her release from prison on a fraud conviction. The couple has two children together while Tyson has five other children from previous relationships.
