Mike Perry has revealed that Jake Paul sent him a boxing contract.
‘The Problem Child’ is looking for a new boxing opponent, and Perry is being considered. ‘Platinum’ seems to be making a last-ditch effort after Paul decided to explore other options. The former UFC fighter had this to say on Twitter:
“I signed a contract to fight @jakepaul but he changed his mind”
Paul last fought in October 2022, where the former YouTuber defeated Anderson Silva by a unanimous decision to advance his record to 6-0 with 4 KOs. Most people want to see ‘The Problem Child’ fight a legitimate boxer next. Although Perry is known as an MMA fighter, the 31-year-old has made a flawless transition to bare-knuckle boxing and now wants to test his skills in professional boxing.
It’s difficult to tell what ‘The Problem Child’ wants to do next. Tommy Fury is a solid option if the two fighters can finally make the fight happen. Meanwhile, Nate Diaz has been discussed several times, but the interest has decreased as most people believe Paul would win. Therefore, Perry could be a solid test if the former YouTuber believes enough PPVs and tickets would be sold.
Mike Perry believes he can beat any fighter at 175-185 pounds
Mike Perry is struggling to find an opponent outside of bare-knuckle boxing. The former UFC fighter has done a phenomenal job of marketing himself, but he can’t seem to land a big-money fight. ‘Platinum’ detailed his frustration on Twitter by saying:
“I fought a 27-3 pro boxer, I am currently 3-0 in the last two years as a boxer. I am a boxer and Can beat any boxer/fighter at 175-185. Give me a real boxing match and I prove it. Cuz we know they not stepping in @bareknucklefc with me. ASAP too !”
‘Platinum’ parted ways with the UFC in 2021 after establishing a promotional record of 7-8. Since then, the 31-year-old has found tremendous success. He first took out professional boxer Michael Seals at Triad Combat 1. Three months later, Perry made his BKFC debut with a unanimous decision win against Julian Lane.
Perry capped off his winning streak with an impressive bare-knuckle win against Bellator’s Michael ‘Venom’ Page. It’s unclear whether the boxing match against Jake Paul will materialize, but ‘Platinum’ has proved he deserves a big opportunity to further prove himself.
