Manny Pacquiao Scored A Split Decision Victory Over Dangerous Undefeated Keith Thurman And Won The Title!
The legendary Filipino boxing star, Manny “The Pacman” Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KOs), returns to the boxing ring tonight (Saturday, July 20, 2019), where he squares off against the WBA (Super) Welterweight champ Keith Thurman (29-0-1 NC, 22 KOs) from inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The boxing match goes on FOX pay-per-view (PPV). Kenny Bayless was the ref.
The first round started with a great exchange. Despite Truman landed a strong body shot, Manny knocked him down in this frame, but Keith got back to his feet.
Pacquiao landed nasty overhand left in the second. Thurman attacked and pressed him against the ropes but Manny survived the onslaught and won the round.
Thurman was better in round three, despite Pacquiao was going forward aggressively, Keith was countering well.
Fighters landed a lot of body shots in the fourth frame. Thurman was pressing his opponent against the ropes but Pacquiao survived and countered well.
Manny Pacquiao punched his opponent with a great overhand left, but he received few strong right hands. Yet, his movement was outstanding in this round.
Thurman was outstanding in round six, he landed more clean shots. Keith definitively looked a lot better.
Keith kicked off round seven very aggressively and even dinged Manny with a big right hand. We’ve seen a few excellent exchanges, another round for Thurman.
Pacquiao used more jabs in round eight and slammed his rival with a big left hand once. Strategy change paid out.
Clean 1-2 and heavy right hand landed. Thurman looked better in the ninth frame, he landed more clean blows.
We’ve seen some great combos in round 10. Trueman was attacking to the body but “Pacman” landed few nasty counters.
Thurman landed more combos but ate a big uppercut. I’d say he won round eleven.
Keith Thurman was marching aggressively in round 12, he went for all or nothing. Many quick exchanges and right hands, very close contest.
Final Result: Manny Pacquiao def. Keith Thurman via Split Decision (113-114, 115–112, 115-112)
