As he helps his son gear up for his upcoming boxing match with Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia next month, John Fury called out Mike Tyson. John insists that he’s very interested in taking on “Iron” Mike that he proposes to have their bout included in the undercard of Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou.

For the paying Fans

Speaking to Seconds Out, John flirted with the unthinkable and challenged Tyson to a boxing match. According to John, he’s not scared of getting knocked out by the former heavyweight champ and would only do it to entertain the paying fans.

“Let me tell you, I’ll swim there. If there are no planes available I’ll swim, and I can’t swim. I’ll get two armbands and I’ll set off today. I’ll be in Saudi don’t worry about that… Why wouldn’t I not speak to Mike Tyson? I love the guy, I named my son after him,” John began. “And if he wants to fight me on the undercard, he can, no problem.”

“You know, I’m a fighting man, I’m old but I’m a fighting man,” he pointed out. “He’s a fighting man. He’s old. We’re two geriatrics. If he wants to fight me and I want to fight him, which I do, I’ve made it quite clear, and he wants something, we can do it. I’ve been knocked out before, doesn’t make any difference to me, as long as we can entertain the paying public and put smiles on their faces, that’s all I wanna do.”

The Gypsy King vows a KO win

John’s call out on Tyson became relevant due to the fact that Ngannou is being trained by “The Baddest Man on the Planet.” The former UFC heavyweight champ has linked up with Tyson to help him prepare for his boxing debut and training footage shows that the pair has been making tremendous progress.

On the other hand, Fury insisted that regardless of who trains Ngannou, he’d be going for the knockout come fight night.

The highly-anticipated boxing match will take place on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.
