Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr. conducted the first press conference for their upcoming bout.

YouTube sensation turned boxer Jake Paul was initially scheduled to take on Tommy Fury in August. The two had been paired up for an earlier outing in December but Fury withdrew due to a rib injury. For their second time around, “TNT” ended up pulling out again just a few weeks out from the fight.

Paul found Hasim Rahman Jr. as the replacement but had claimed that the fight was at risk and that the presser might not even happen.

Jake Paul & Hasim Rahman Jr. face off after an explosive press conference

This past Tuesday, “The Problem Child” squared off against Rahman Jr., a heavyweight boxer with a record of 12-1, notably the most legit opponent Paul has fought in the sport. These two have a level of animosity towards each other stemming from a sparring session they had about two years ago. From the start of the press conference, it looked like they carried that intensity.

You can watch the video below. Paul and Rahman Jr. can be seen exchanging words during the face-off.

Paul’s going to face his toughest test yet in Rahman Jr.

Rahman Jr. is the son of Hasim Rahman, a two-time world heavyweight champion who held the unified WBC, IBF, IBO, and lineal titles. As such, he’s well-known in the community and is expected to carry forward the legacy of his father by dispatching Paul, who many consider being a social media celebrity as opposed to a true boxer.

This will mark Paul’s sixth fight in combat sports. Having started his career against YouTuber Ali Eson Gib, Paul went on to rack up memorable wins over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, with a brutal knockout, and ex-UFC fighter Ben Askren, with another impressive finish in just 70 seconds.

Jake Paul is set to take on Hasim Rahman Jr. in a boxing match on Aug. 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
