  • Floyd Mayweather confirmed his next exhibition match will be a rematch with John Gotti III
  • The bout is tentatively set for February 2024

Floyd Mayweather is stepping inside the ring once again. This time, the legendary boxer will take on a familiar rival in John Gotti III as they pick up where they left off in their feud.

It’s official

The undefeated 46-year-old made it official after he announced his upcoming rematch with Gotti III, grandson of the late Gambino crime family boss John Gotti, on his Instagram account.

Reports state that the bout is tentatively scheduled to take place on February 9th, 10th or 11th in Las Vegas. Further details are expected to be underway.

A long-awaited second showdown

It can be recalled that Mayweather and Gotti III refused to end their rivalry after their first exhibition boxing match this past June. The pair and their respective entourage already engage in a commotion prior to the actual fight but the bout itself ended in a stoppage win for “Money.” As expected, Mayweather and Gotti III went on and got involved in another altercation resulting in an ugly post-fight brawl.

The incident saw Gotti III being slapped with a six-month suspension but that didn’t stop him from marking Mayweather as his eternal foe in and outside boxing. With that said, it’s safe to say that the upcoming rematch between the two bitter rivals would also be tension-filled.

Mayweather ended his illustrious pro boxing career with a 50-0 record and has not been defeated in exhibition matches. On the other hand, Gotti III holds a 2-0 pro boxing record and is 5-1 as an MMA fighter.
