Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn has shared what he’s been told about a showdown between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou.

It’s no secret that Fury and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Ngannou have mutual interest in a boxing match. Fury has insisted to have the bout contested in the standup with 4 oz gloves on. “The Gyspy King” has also said he’d like the Queensbury rules fight to be held inside a cage. Whether or not that set of rules will be implemented remains to be seen, but Hearn claims to have heard what is floating around about the matchup.

Eddie Hearn Spills Beans On Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou?

Hearn was recently interviewed by Boxing Social. The top boxing promoter touched on a number of topics including what he’s heard about Fury’s next fight. He said the word is that Fury vs. the newly-minted PFL MMA fighter Ngannou looms.

“Yes, I believe so,” Hearn said. “This is what I’ve heard. It would be an exhibition, apparently. No knockdowns or anything, I don’t know. I’m only telling you what I’ve heard. Who knows what’s what, but I think that is apparently what is gonna be the next fight. Disappointing, but it is what it is.”

Still No Undisputed Heavyweight Title Fight

Hearn won’t deny that the bout would be a spectacle, but he shared his desire to see an undisputed heavyweight title fight between Fury, who holds the WBC gold, and Oleksandar Usyk, the man who has the rest of the major world championships in the division.

“I’m sure it would be a big event, but I wanted to see him fight Usyk,” Hearn said. “I feel like that undisputed championship, I mean we chased it for so long. It would be nice to get an undisputed champion, but Tyson is in charge of his own career and I’m sure he’s gonna make a load of money and good luck to him.”
