  • Mike Perry said he didn’t expect that stopping Rockhold was “easy”

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold came in prepared for his bare-knuckle boxing debut at BKFC 41. However, he failed to secure a victory as Mike Perry forced him to quit in the second round.

BKFC president David Feldman addressed the issue in his post-fight press conference.

Luke’s teeth were messed up

Feldman stated that the medical team at BKFC decided to stop the fight due to the serious damage to Rockhold’s teeth, which made it impossible for him to continue.

“Luke Rockhold, some of his teeth got cracked. So that’s why he wasn’t able to continue. His teeth got messed up pretty good. What a great start to that fight. Great fight,” Feldman revealed.

Feldman was also right when he said it was a great fight as Rockhold and Perry gave it all they got right from the jump. Before quitting, Rockhold even got “Platinum” wobbled with a nasty left hand that landed on his opponent’s chin. Unfortunately, the ex-UFC champ felt that something was wrong with his teeth in Round 2 and was prompted to call it off.

Despite eating up a couple of hard shots from Rockhold, Perry said he was shocked that after all the hard training, beating Rockhold turned out to be “easy.”

It is yet to be determined what lies ahead of Rockhold at BKFC. On the other hand, Perry is laser-focused on taking on Donald Cerrone next before going for a possible big-money fight with Conor McGregor, who gave him an epic face-off after his BKFC 41 win.

Perry remains unbeaten at BKFC and now has a 3-0 record.
