UFC 243 Has Its Expected Main Event, Between Whittaker And Adesanya
UFC 243 appears to have it’s main event. The bout between Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya has been officially added to the card.
It was expected that these two would headline the event. This became the assumption, when it was announced that the event would take place in a massive Australian stadium. Both competitors hail from the Kiwi area, so they would be massive draws in the location. It was announced on Friday, by Whittaker via Twitter that this bout would take place at UFC 243.

This bout will take place to unify the UFC’s Middleweight Championship. Whittaker was forced to withdraw from his title fight against Kelvin Gastelum, earlier this year due to a hernia. Subsequently, Adesanya would go on to face Gastelum for the interim title, and win.
Now, around three months later, this bout has been finalized. However, this does not come a shock to many, as it would be hard to imagine any other fight headlining this card. The expected venue is a massive stadium, and so a hometown name would be the best bet.
On the other hand, if you ask Adesanya, he is unsure that Whittaker will make it to fight night. Robert Whittaker has had quite the poor stream of luck, between huge wars, and battling illness and injury.
UFC 243 is expected to take place on October 6th. It is currently expected to be based in Australia’s massive Marvel Stadium. Stay tuned to Middle Easy for further bout updates.
