A light heavyweight bout between ex-division kingpin, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and former light heavyweight title contender, Volkan Oezdemir will headline UFC Fight Night 134 on Sun., July 22, 2018, inside Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. The main card will air on FOX Sports 1 with “Prelims” on UFC Fight Pass.
The UFC announced 205-pound matchups via social media channel on Monday morning.
The contest was originally supposed to take place next month in Chile was scraped off due to Swiss light heavyweight Oezdemir’s legal troubles stemming from a third-degree felony battery charge back in August will not allow him to leave the United States.
In addition to this, confirmed Shogun vs. Oezdemir is officially off the Chile card, too. Hoping to move it to a later date this summer. First reported by Combate.

Oezdemir is coming off a TKO loss to current light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 220 that snapped his five-win streaks. He is 3-1 overall in the UFC.
Rua (25-10) has a pretty good run as of late with three straight wins over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Corey Anderson and Gian Villante. Rua was set to return back in September 2017 to face the Saint Preux for the second time but removed from the bout due to an injury.
