Chael Sonnen has weighed in on what he feels was an awkward episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a guest.
Many have reacted to Johnson’s appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and some feel disappointed that there was no closure for some underlying issues between the two. “The Rock” appeared to pull support for Rogan back in early 2022 after singer India Arie posted a montage of Rogan saying the N-word. Since that time, Rogan has seemingly taken digs at Johnson, such as claiming he’s on steroids.
Chael Sonnen Reflects On Joe Rogan Podcast & Claims “The Rock” Is On Steroids
In a new video posted on his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen said that someone with Dwayne Johnson’s platform could’ve contributed to Rogan’s demise if he had been canceled.
“In that moment, the biggest star in Hollywood, “The Rock” piled on. Joe Rogan was being called amongst the worst things that a man can be called, a racist. They are calling his character into question, and if they succeed in canceling him that would be an interpretation throughout time that he was, in fact, a racist and his character will be diminished forever more. There’s no running it back, there’s no bringing it back later and saying, ‘Hey, we were a little strong on him.’ That’s not the way that works.”
Sonnen went on to claim that “The Rock” has been lying for years about his lifestyle.
“It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if you weren’t out there telling people about nutrition and telling people about your diet, telling people about your workouts,” Sonnen said. “As soon as you start doing that and trying to influence and motivate and bring people along the journey but you lied to them about the journey, I mean it’s Liver King. You’re Liver King all over again. It’s the exact same thing.”
Sonnen insisted that he wasn’t giving “The Rock” a hard time. He just believes that the Hollywood star and WWE legend took a shot at Rogan that could’ve ended his career. Sonnen also said “The Rock” and his family have long used steroids and “The Brahma Bull” has lied about it constantly. Chael also claimed that Johnson isn’t being a true man by not addressing his past comments on Rogan. He also criticized Rogan for allowing “The Rock” to be a “coward.”
