  • Sean O’Malley revealed how a prank call got him getting handcuffed by a SWAT unit inside his own home
  • “Suga” is still waiting for an update regarding his next title fight

Sean O’Malley shared his terrifying experience with a SWAT unit that responded to a random call reporting he had killed his parents.

Suga got “Swatted”

Speaking to his “Timbo Sugarshow” podcast with his coach Tim Welch, “Suga” detailed what happened when the SWAT came knocking at his door that day. O’Malley said he was just streaming when all of a sudden, a SWAT unit entered his house and handcuffed him.

The reigning bantamweight champion said the SWAT told him they received a call which stated that O’Malley had just murdered his parents and an active shooter is still in the house. O’Malley later realized that he got “swatted,” a current trend in which pranksters make hoax phone calls to report serious but false crimes.

“I’ve heard about, like Adin [Ross] and the big streamers getting swatted,” O’Malley recalled. “People find out where they’re at and they call the cops, say something happened that obviously didn’t happen, and then they’re f**king getting swatted. So, I peek out my head out the window to see if maybe it’s something else, but then they’re on the intercom and I see a bunch of cops. They’re like, ‘Walk out with your hands up.’ So I f**kin’ walk out, hands up. I was like, ‘I’m just going to listen. I could get shot.'”

“I was like, ‘OK, if I just listen to them, I’ll be all right.’ But you never know. Someone sneezes, pulls the trigger, I’ve got f**kin’ shotguns pointed at me, ARs from like four different cops pointed at me. I was like, ‘I’m just going to listen and walk back,'” he continued.

“I was sitting in the back of that cop car in handcuffs and I was like, ‘Dude, that’s crazy. I had freedom five minutes ago. Now I have none. Zero.’ … They said I killed my parents or something like that, and they thought there was an active shooter inside… Someone called the cops, said there’s an active shooter, two dead people in the house or something,” he concluded.

Sean is waiting for an update

O’Malley has successfully defended his bantamweight title against Chito Vera at UFC 299. As it stands, “Suga” is still waiting for a concrete update from the UFC brass regarding his next title fight.

Merab Dvalishvili previously said he is set to face “Sugar” for UFC 306 but O’Malley quickly refuted it, clarifying that the UFC has yet to confirm anything.
