Sean Strickland wants to get a title shot next and called for Israel Adesanya’s ‘black card’ to get revoked due to a skit he did during his time in China.

Reigning UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is coming off a sensational victory over former champion Alex Pereira in his last outing to reclaim the title at UFC 287 two months ago. Having started his career in professional kickboxing, Adesanya has come a long way to become one of the most dominant champions in UFC history with five successful title defenses. Before he made his way to the company, he spent the majority of his time in China competing in kickboxing matches.

During his time in China, Adesanya expressed his affinity for the country by stating he was Chinese on the inside and even carried the Chinese flag for one of his entrances in competition.

Sean Strickland calls on revoking Israel Adesanya’s ‘black card’

During the pre-fight press conference for UFC Vegas 76, Sean Strickland fired shots at Israel Adesanya for representing China and urged for his ‘black card’ to get revoked.

“Izzy, the true Chinese. They probably want to bring a real African back to the championship,” said Strickland. “Can you guys believe that sh*t? This f**king clown, this loser. They need to revoke your black card. I don’t even look at you like a black man.

“I look at you like the f**king Chinese. This a**hole. I don’t know how Izzy goes and hangs out with his black buddies and represents Africa because you’re a clown. There’s a skit of him saying look at my skin color, you might think I’m a black man from Africa. Wrong. I’m from China. So, I guess they want a Chinese versus an African champion this time. Revoke that man’s black card.”

Strickland wants to get the next title shot

The winner of Robert Whittaker vs. Dricus Du Plessis is expected to get a title shot next against Adesanya. Strickland bashed the matchup and criticized Du Plessis’s record while making a case for himself to be next in line.

“I would like to fight Izzy. I think Whittaker is going to f**k Dricus up. We all know that. Dricus fought Brunson, has Brunson retired yet? When was the last time you saw a top 10 guy quit on the stool?

“You don’t see that sh** so it’s kind of embarrassing Dricus gets a potential shot.”

Sean Strickland is scheduled to face Abusupiyan Magomedov in the headlining bout of UFC Vegas 76 this Saturday, Jul. 1 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
