Aljamain Sterling Wins via TKO Following TJ Dillashaw’s Shoulder Injury – UFC 280 Results (Highlights)

Reigning bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling went into the bout looking to retain his title over former two-time champion T.J. Dillashaw in the co-main event of UFC 280.

UFC 280: Aljamain Sterling vs. T.J. Dillashaw

Round 1

Dillashaw opens with a low kick. Kick-heavy gameplay by both. Sterling gets a takedown. Dillashaw is wincing bad as Sterling rides him on top. Sterling lays the ground and pound from the top on Dillashaw. Sterling gets his back and is going for a submission. Dillashaw scrambles but Sterling won’t let go of his back. TJ appears to be suffering from a shoulder injury as he continues to wince. Sterling lands multiple strikes. TJ manages to get up. Sterling gets a takedown but TJ recovers immediately. Sterling gets him down again.

Round 2

Dillashaw comes out firing with leg kicks and punches. Sterling gets a takedown. Sterling is on the top and striking Dillashaw. TJ gets up and barely avoids a d’arce choke. Sterling gets him down again and continues working from the top. Huge elbows from Sterling.

 

Official Result: Aljamain Sterling defeats T.J. Dillashaw via TKO (R2, 3:44).
