Yair Rodriguez Prays For Fight With Conor McGregor

Plenty of people call out Conor McGregor, on each and every UFC card. However Yair Rodriguez took a different approach to trying to get that massive fight.

Rodriguez is fresh off a win over Jeremy Stephens, in a rematch at UFC Boston. This was a highly anticipated fight, after their first ended in a No Contest a month prior. Subsequently, the two put on an exciting fight, with Yair getting the decision.

Following this win, Yair Rodriguez is in prime position for a big fight. He is likely next for the winner of UFC 245’s feathweight title fight. On the other hand, he does have another option in mind, and that is a fight with Conor McGregor.

Rodriguez made his intentions to get this fight known, with a unique callout. In a video posted to his Instagram, he lights a candle to” St. McGregor,” in line with common Mexican religious practices. In doing so, he says that he is asking for a fight with McGregor.

While Rodriguez loses some cool points for a lack of originality, he does earn some for creativity. Nevertheless, even at lightweight or a catchweight, it seems unlikely this fight will happen. But hey, shoot your shot, right?

Currently Conor McGregor is currently in talks for a January return, against Donald Cerrone. Although who knows, perhaps Yair Rodriguez could be the guy.
