Donald Cerrone Gives Update On Conor McGregor Bout

Donald Cerrone was on the shortlist of people being considered for the return of Conor McGregor. Now, he says things are moving in the right direction for the fight.

Cerrone and McGregor have been linked to fight for a while now. They have had several back and forth’s throughout the years. However, they were closest to fighting earlier this year. Although in the end, the bout would fall through.

Most recently, McGregor announced his intent to return to fighting at the beginning of next year. Following this announcement, reports circulated suggesting that there were two opponents in mind. One opponent mentioned was Justin Gaethje. Nevertheless, the one who was being talked of as most likely, was Donald Cerrone.

Now, a few days after this news broke, Cerrone provides an update on negotiations for the fight. While UFC President Dana White said the bout is far from done, “Cowboy” has a different sentiment. Speaking with TMZ, he said that he thinks the bout is really going to happen.

“I think it’s going to happen this time. I really do. Conor’s really serious about making a comeback. I think Conor’s side and our team have reached out. We’re trying to figure it out, man. It’s looking good though.”

If the bout does come together, it certainly is something fans have expressed interest in. Donald Cerrone and Conor McGregor both have an all-action style. Therefore a bout between the two is competitive, and expected to be fun to watch. That is, so long as McGregor can stay out of trouble.
