Get this straight, people: The UFC rankings mean jack squat. The best fight will get made, and the biggest money fight will get made. Robbie Lawler has basically cleared out his division save a rematch with Condit, Demian Maia and Tyron Woodley. But here’s the thing: none of those guys are draws. Even Condit supposedly didn’t do that much to boost the PPV sales of UFC 195 either.
So, with Nick Diaz getting his suspension reduced to 18 months and a fine, he can fight again in August. As a man who knocked out Robbie Lawler back in the day, as a man worthy of superfights with Anderson Silva. As a man who MOVES THE FUCKING NEEDLE – Nick Diaz should fight Robbie Lawler next. Fuck it. It’s whatever.
We all know this is true. A Lawler/Woodley title fight would probably be a co-main event, or maybe the main event of one of the weaker PPVs in 2016. No. This shouldn’t happen. Let Robbie rest and get his body right. Give Nick the fight. Give Robbie a chance at redemption. Give the fans one hell of a fucking fight.
