A middleweight bout between Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori is taking place now (Saturday, September 3, 2022) at UFC Paris.
Round 1
Whittaker with some early leg kicks. Whittaker lands a big right as Vettori goes for a kick. Whittaker blocks a head kick. Vettori lands some lefts but has missed most of his shots. Whittaker with a front kick to the body. Vettori clinches up with Whittaker but the latter eventually separates. Vettori with a leg kick. Vettori later lands his first body kick. Whittaker pulls back and partially lands a counter uppercut. Vettori ends the round with a nice counter knee.
Round 2
Whittaker goes for a combination ending with a head kick but slips as Vettori avoids it. Vettori misses his own soon after. They clinch up but Whittaker gets out of it. Whittaker with some front kicks to the body. Vettori partially eats a head kick before eating a big right from Whittaker. Vettori blocks a head kick. Whittaker lands a right soon after. Vettori blocks another head kick but seems to have taken a bit of damage as he backs up a bit. Whittaker is starting to gain momentum as he is landing a lot more now. Whittaker with some one twos as Vettori backs up. Whittaker with a nice leg kick. Vettori has slowed down considerably. Whittaker ends the round strong with another right.
Round 3
Whittaker with some big front kicks to the body. Vettori is putting the pressure on. Whittaker misses a head kick. However, he catches Vettori with a big head kick soon after. Whittaker then catches him with a knee to the dome as Vettori was shooting. Whittaker lands a counter right. Vettori looks lost in there but does land a leg kick. Whittaker with another nice right. Vettori misses a head kick. He shoots soon after but Whittaker defends fairly easily. Whittaker lands a right as he has Vettori backed up. Whittaker times a takedown well. Vettori gets up soon after but is unable to land anything significant for the rest of the fight. This should be a convincing Whittaker win.
