Well at least she won the fight. Some people will say only those that have cornered a Bellator fighter live on Spike TV could understand what was going through the mind of Julia Budd’s coach. Between rounds two and three, with most people scoring the first 10 minutes for Budd, “The Jewel” got slapped right in the face by one of her male coaches.
So pumped up you have to hit your fighter in the face to express your message? Use your words?
If somebody smacked their puppy on the nose after he stole some of their Hot Pocket snack bites when they weren’t looking it would be awkward. Seeing a male coach slap a female fighter in 2015 is also cringe worthy. Be nice to your Hot Pocket loving puppy and if you can’t coach without hitting than maybe you also need some Hot Pockets and chill time to yourself.
Budd would go on to win an unanimous decision over Roberta Paim Rovel and has now won six in a row since getting subbed by Ronda Rousey in 2011.
