Reebok’s Spartan Race is similar to ‘Tough Mudder’ — essentially an event of pure endurance so that when you’re finished with the course, you can have a really cool Facebook status update. There’s nothing to be gained, no prizes awarded. You literally pay money to be physically tortured in an obstacle course, if you injure yourself then you’ll need to spend your silly little dollars to fix it.
In order to increase their endurance racing cred, Jamie Varner and Johny Hendricks decided to enlist in Spartan Race a few weeks ago. We also can make a pretty safe assumption that Reebok also rewarded their bank accounts handsomely for enrolling in the event.
